Fidelity Arms was created around a simple idea: becoming a better shooter should not require sorting through an endless collection of disconnected tips, drills, videos, and opinions.
Built From the Student's Perspective
A teacher who remembers what learning feels like.
Fidelity Arms was founded by Brad Fenster, a lifelong instructor who believes one of the most important skills a teacher can have is remembering what it was like to be a student.
Brad grew up on a farm in North Dakota around firearms and shooting, although not competitive shooting. He later served on active duty in the U.S. Navy as a Special Warfare Combat Craft Crewman, supporting SEAL teams during overseas deployments. He subsequently served as a Ranger qualified infantry officer in the West Virginia Army National Guard and deployed to Iraq.
His career eventually took him into aviation. Brad became both an airplane and helicopter pilot and spent years as a flight instructor. That experience developed a lasting interest in teaching complex skills in a way that makes sense to someone learning them for the first time.
He went on to write three aviation training books: The Helicopter Study Guide, IFR Study Guide, and Guide to Seaplane Flying. Today, he flies an MD 500 helicopter in utility power line operations.
Teaching remained a constant throughout those different careers.
From Student to Competitor
A more deliberate approach to training.
Although Brad had been around firearms most of his life and enjoyed long range shooting with his father, he did not begin competitive pistol shooting until age 53.
He joined USPSA in March 2025. After a few months of competing, he decided that if he was going to pursue the sport, he wanted to find out how good he could become by approaching shooting with the same deliberate process he had used in other areas of his life.
As his skills improved, the process became more refined. Training shifted from simply learning fundamentals toward measuring performance, improving movement, refining stage execution, and developing the mental skills required to perform on demand.
The experience reinforced something he had already learned through aviation and instruction: improvement happens much faster when training follows a process.
The Commitment
Several months after beginning USPSA competition, Brad committed to training every day for one year.

Brad began competing in USPSA at 53 and earned Master classification in less than two years using the current movement intensive 25 Series classifiers.
Why Fidelity Arms Exists
A consistent system for improvement.
There is a great deal of useful training information available. Developing shooters often lack a structure that tells them what to learn, what to practice, how to measure progress, and what to work on next.

Brad found excellent instructors, books, podcasts, videos, and individual training concepts throughout the shooting community. The challenge was putting that information into a consistent system that answered those questions.
Fidelity Arms is designed to provide that structure: helping competitive shooters understand the principles behind high performance, practice those principles deliberately, measure their results, and build a repeatable process for continued improvement.
The training is designed primarily for developing competitive shooters, particularly those building the fundamentals and working through the early stages of USPSA classification, while remaining useful to any shooter serious about measurable improvement.
